Well I’ve finished the home-schooling & can pack away my colouring pencils and number squares for the last time !?
Finally, I can start to think about what I used to do as a profession. It’s been a year (yes a year) since we last operated as a ‘pub’,
and our government has now released a ‘roadmap’, a phased approach, to returning to something that will allow
us to at least trade in some form again.
We will be taking it slow and steady, the 13 days we were permitted to trade at the end of 2020 taught me to watch
before committing or end up with burnt fingers, again!
So our rough plan is as follows..
From the w/c 26th April we plan to open our patio and a section of our garden, at lunch times, for drinks only..
Think of it as pre-session training, this will also mean we can slowly release our team (normally social creatures by nature)
out from their forced captivity (and in some cases solitude confinement) and watch them explore their newfound freedom.
Space will be limited, masks must be worn when not seated and it’s table service only (you must be seated at all times –
except visiting toilets or coming/going or course), you will be required to provide track&trace details, the one-way system is back with the entrance through the patio gate. It will be a maximum of 6 people per table, social distancing laws mean you can not ‘mingle’ with other tables. Sorry folks but that’s the law!
From May 17th, when the above rules also apply to indoor spaces, we will look to re-open our kitchen and extend our opening hours, possibly even bring back our Quiz Nights, but in our marquee. But one thing at a time.
So for now we look forward to seeing you for a drink in April.

About Our Food :- To manage the new rules we have had to strip down and simplify our food offering in order to accommodate the volume of food that now requires preparing, serving & washing up.. we can offer our diners a fixed price, one or two course meal (children half price) and have allocated a two hour time slot for those ordering our two course options
